Who do I hate the most right now? Panagiotis Giannakis.
Now? Care to be more specific? 26/11/1997
Background Information: This guy used to be one of the best basketball players in Greece and even participated in the 1987 National team, which won the European Basketball Championship. He was the playmaker of Aris (a historic Greek team) for many years and then moved to Panathinaikos.
The last few years, everybody with common sence and even average IQ, could see that he was too old (born in 1960), too slow and too stupid to continue to play. Later on, he realised that himself and decided to put an end to his carrier as a basketball player.
Recent history: Being a fun of Murphy's Law, I always believed that "If anything can go wrong -- it will" and this is exactly what happened here. He quited the National Team -thank God- but then he was immediately appointed head coach of our National Team!!! Can you imagine a player who has never studied coaching, never had any coaching experience and looks -is- plain stupid, coaching a whole National Team which used to be considered -before he took over- one of the best in the world?
Under his "leadership" we managed to lose in Greece from Slovenia 76-79, won Slovakia 73-76 literally in the last minute and lost from Germany 74-71. This -once glorious- team can't even beat the worst bunch of amateur players the world has to offer and moreover, we are now facing the danger of not being able to qualify for the Eurobasket 1997 held in France. We've got 5 more difficult games ahead of us and we'd better win them ALL!
Not qualifing will be a national disaster but it probably won't be the only one. This year Greece hosts the World Basketball Championship and the way I see it will probably be better to withdraw our team than get crashed and buried in our own country. What a TOTAL humiliation! How TOTALY sad!
In case you are Greek and forgot: Some people claim that this guy has an outstanding character and so on... Really? I on the other hand still remember that when he was the play-maker of Aris he would cause all sorts of trouble. He would stop attending the team's practise, complain all the time, threaten to stop playing before important games etc., just because he was paid less money than Nick Galis, the best Greek player EVER and one of the best european players ever. Our outstanding(?!?) coach would whine (miksoklege in Greek) and sabotage his team in order to get a couple of more bucks. In case he hasn't figured it out yet, he was paid less because he didn't worth SHIT compared to Nick Gallis.

Of course Panagiotis Giannakis, our great(?!?) coach, is not the only one I hate in this world. I also hate Netscape and here is why.
